Job Title WMS Lead
Essential Function
This position provides functional and technical support to users of the WMS Supply Chain IT applications including Warehouse Management, Labor Management and Material Handling systems. Understands supply chain domain, processes and procedures associated with implementing and maintaining the supply chain systems. This role performs system testing, develops and maintains system documentation, develops and delivers training, and provides ongoing operational support.
Primary Duties
- Assists with the configuration and testing of the WMS to meet business processes for the facility, and trains associates in proper usage of the WMS. Provides support to the operational groups ensuring effective usage of the WMS to enable daily processing, identify improvement opportunities, and record operational metrics.
- Trouble-shoot and resolves both inbound and outbound LPN issues, determines root cause and make the necessary system action to ensure proper product movement through the facility. This includes but is not limited to item discrepancies such as incorrect slots, abandoned work assignments, and improperly identified pallets or carts.
- Trouble-shoot hardware associated with WMS including but not limited to scanners, fixed printers, mobile printers, mobile computers, basic network connections and configuration, and pass relevant information to IT for assistance.
- Participate in, and communicate resolution of, after-action reports on all incidents of system malfunction, process failures, or human error (pertaining to WMS system integrity).
- Performs slot location checks to validate WMS versus physical inventory including: cycle counts, quantity variance, Phase In/ Phase Out, and others as needed. This entails generating reports, physically counting the items, processing the data entry and creating follow up reports and required documentation.
- Autonomously identify issues in data, paperwork, or communication that may interrupt customer facing business and take preventative action and/ or elevate issue to proper level of management (includes full understanding of information flow between internal departments and external entities).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 3 years experience in general warehousing and distribution.
- 2 years or more of experience with Manhattan WMoS (2010 or later).
- More than 1 year experience in MA WMoS Configuration, including the understanding of System Codes, Inventory Need Types (INTs), Work Areas, Work Group, and end user setup on MA WMoS.
- Experience using Labor Management, Slotting, or Wave Planning in a Distribution Center using Manhattan software.
- Experience Testing / QA a WMS.
- Familiar with modern Distribution Center technologies, such as DC Automation, Voice Picking, Mobile Devices (RF), and paperless task management
- Skilled at Microsoft Word and Excel.

Working Conditions /Physical Requirements
- The work involves moderate risks or discomforts, which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, carts, or machines; with irritant chemicals; etc. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves, or shields.
- The position requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; climbing tall ladders, recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as shipment or record boxes. Lifting may exceed 50 lbs at times. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity.
