Role Overview

Ready to lead the design and development of groundbreaking innovations in life sciences automation while turning complex challenges into cost-effective solutions? We’re looking for a Chief Applications Engineer who can do just that—and more. In this role, you will be a key leader within our advanced engineering team for our life sciences and automated assembly customers.



Solutions for highly-precise small parts handling, laser integration, and assembly automation are just a few of needs in medical device manufacturing. Our Chief Applications Engineers are at the forefront of bringing this capability to life. From owning and shaping technical concepts for RFQs to spearheading research & development, this role is pivotal in securing new business, extending our company’s technical excellence, and ensuring the successful execution of complex engineering projects.



Success Criteria:

In this role, you will take ownership of a share of RFQ concept development, leading the charge in formulating technical solutions that align with customer needs and leverage our expertise in life sciences and automation. Your ability to accurately estimate costs, materials, and labor will be crucial as you craft proposals that meet customer expectations and drive revenue growth. You’ll work closely with customers, building strong relationships that enable you to present tailored solutions showcasing our technological capabilities.


As a key member of our engineering leadership team, you will guide and collaborate with cross-functional experts to translate complex customer challenges into innovative, efficient solutions. Your expertise will help guide project teams through technical challenges, ensuring that solutions are effective, timely, and delivered within budget. You’ll play a hands-on role in problem-solving, mentoring teams to enhance their skills and foster a culture of continuous improvement.



Your strategic insight will also drive our research and development efforts. You’ll play a key role in integrating advanced technologies that enhance our processes, setting new standards for operational excellence. Your forward-thinking approach will contribute in a meaningful way toward our long-term growth strategies. Your contributions to industry conferences and presentations will extend our reputation us as a frontrunner in next-generation life science technologies.

We offer market competitive pay and benefits based upon the candidate’s skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Our starting rate of pay for this salaried position is targeted at $150,000–$200,000 annually and is bonus eligible.

Qualifications:


* 10+ years of relevant experience
* BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field), MS preferred
* Proven track record in designing complex custom automated solution with an ability to communicate complex technical concepts to audiences with varying technical skills both internally and externally in a professional, comprehensive manner
* Extensive experience in RFQ concept development and formulating technical solutions aligned with customer needs. Skilled in cost estimation, proposal development, ensuring compliance with quality standards
* Strong background in mentoring engineering talent and fostering continuous improvement
* Knowledgeable in safety and regulatory standards (ISO13485)
* Experience negotiating technical contracts and managing intellectual property in collaboration with legal teams
