As an Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be a part of theIntegratedFlightSystemsgroup, developing and maintaining software solutions forAvionicssystems. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams,implementingsoftware designs, and ensuring the quality and performance of software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Our team develops and designs software solutions for MAU (ModularAvionicsUnit) systems. The MAU (ModularAvionicsUnit) Core software development pertains toembedded softwaredevelopment and working with software components that closely interacts with the Honeywell Epic/Apex AvionicsModule hardware, and many of the software components run on top of the Deos Operating Systems.

  • Design,develop, and testembedded softwareapplications using industry best practices
  • Responsible for updating existing MAU (ModularAvionicsUnit) Core / Primus Epic Platforms Software components and developing new platforms software functionalities.
  • Collaboratewithcross-functional teamsto enhance and optimize critical software components
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence tocodingstandards
  • Troubleshootand resolve complex software issues
  • Collaboratewith stakeholders to ensure software meets customer needs and requirements
  • The software development process includes utilizingSoftware Configuration ManagementTools and supportingSoftware Qualitypractices and follows DO-178BDesign AssuranceLevel A process.
  • SupportingVerificationand Validation (V&V) and reviewing the V&V Docs (TraceabilityDocument,Test Casesand Procedure Document,Software VerificationReport)
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends insoftware engineering

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • 4+ years of experience inEmbedded Softwaredevelopment andintegrationusing programming languages (such as C++,Java,Python)
  • Strong understanding ofsoftware development principlesand methodologies

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience withsoftware testinganddebugging techniques
  • Experience in any of the following is of value:
    • Experience with DO-178B Level A software development processes.
    • Experience using and interfacing with the Deos Operating System
    • Experience with aerospace software development and/orAvionicssystem knowledge.
    • Knowledge of safety-critical software development practices
