We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Capital Project Manager to join our client’s team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Budget Management:
- Oversee the entire Capital Budget program.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for managing the Operating Budget.
- Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and create insightful visualizations to effectively track and report on budget status.
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage all aspects of project schedules and budgets, including comprehensive reporting.
- Prepare detailed project status reports that address schedule, budget, safety, and outstanding issues.
- Monitor contractor performance closely, ensuring adherence to safety, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Develop comprehensive user criteria documentation for project implementation.
- Define clear scopes of work for the procurement of materials and labor.
- Technical Expertise:
- Conduct thorough reviews of specifications, utility standards, and drawings.
- Coordinate effectively with customers, architects, and engineers.
- Monitor and coordinate site visits and address contractor inquiries.
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals.
- Lead regular update and review meetings with contractors and consultants.
- Contract & Quality Assurance:
- Conduct initial reviews of vendor and contractor payment applications, validating progress against approved schedules of values.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and provide recommendations on proposed change directives and change orders.
- Oversee the contractor’s Quality Control program and ensure adherence to established quality control procedures.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing complex construction projects simultaneously.
- Proven experience with a variety of construction project types and sizes.
- Strong technical knowledge of design, building construction, and schedule management principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).
- Preferred:
- Experience managing budgets (Capital and Operating).
- Knowledge of project scheduling and estimating techniques.
- Understanding of construction safety programs and regulations.
- Proficiency in software applications such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Visio.
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $30 to $33 per hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
