Humboldt Creamery in currently looking for a Commodities Production Manager
Responsible for leading all elements of scheduling, processing and production of the commodity business unit. This is achieved by developing, communicating and implementing clear expectations while leading team members to achieve company directives and business unit goals. These functions are directly, or indirectly, linked to the safest production of the highest quality milk production possible and support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) System as defined in the SQF Code. All staff shall complete all Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety and Food Security Training as required by Local, State, Federal and Humboldt Creamery. Complete all duties in a manner that is consistent with all aspects of Company Safety Rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF). All staff shall report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
Ensure the highest quality product by supporting a culture of food safety and quality; while actively promoting company directives and enforcing company policies. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Communication and interpersonal skills to lead a group of team members in a production environment.
* Proficient computer skills and knowledge of computer programs utilized in a typical business environment.
* Proven ability to direct change when performance measures, goal achievement and accountability are not being achieved.
* Ability to lead team members in continuous improvement.
* Drive new initiatives within the business unit to achieve commitment, understanding and ultimate success.
* Ability to consistently reach goals in productivity, controllable costs and safety through effective leadership.
* Manage the production of all products in an efficient, safe manner while meeting all quality and cost expectations.
* Forecast product needs to maintain productivity.
* Ensure proper procedures are in place regarding efficiency, quality, safety and all regulatory guidelines.
* Analyze and resolve work opportunities and lead team members in reaching exceptional resolutions.
* Analyze cost performance data to make decisions which will improve productivity.
* Successfully lead, develop and coach team to garner commitment and productivity results.
* Effectively communicate all pertinent department information to peers and leadership team to ensure team success.
* Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance and quality of products.
* Produce effective employee schedules to ensure proper staffing at all times.
* Analyze cost performance data during decision making.
* Reach effective decisions on production runs using information garnered through inventory levels, customer demands and priority.
* Ability to complete safety investigations which comply with OSHA standards.
