Project Overview:

Our client’s Developer Studio's mission is to educate, inspire, inform, and engage developers by partnering with DevRel, Developer Marketing, and PAs to reach developers where they are, reinforcing their trust in, and expanding their use of, our client’s products

Our client’s studio Events provides strategic end-to-end event production support. Our team specializes in cross-functional event planning for activations ranging from large scale developer events to intimate developer-focused moments. 

Overall Responsibilities: 

This role is responsible for the strategic event planning and execution of a portfolio of developer and select consumer / press events. This person will manage a team of 3-5 TVCs who will lead the day to day execution and would rely on this person for business leadership, guidance and support throughout the planning, development, and production processes of in-person and virtual events. This role is responsible for forecasting and troubleshooting complex escalations and working with cross-functional teams across the company. 

Top 5 Daily Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic Leadership & Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive global developer event strategy aligned with our client’s product and marketing goals. This includes identifying target audiences, defining measurable objectives, and creating innovative event formats.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering and marketing teams to define event goals and scope accordingly. This person will ensure alignment across all stakeholders. 
  • Event Execution & Management: Oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, from concept development and logistics (venue selection, catering, AV, attendee registration and experience, etc.) to marketing and on-site operations. Support TVCs as they serve as the day to day POC for stakeholders throughout the process, while stepping in as necessary to manage escalations or higher level resolutions. 
  • Budget Management: Develop, present, secure approval for, and manage event budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing ROI.
  • Vendor and Agency Management: Spearhead event scoping by leading RFP process, negotiating with vendors/agencies and managing vendor/agency relationships throughout the event life cycle.

Skill/Experience/Education –

Mandatory:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Total years experience in what industry, discipline or responsibility: 7-10 years in event industry (in house or agency experience – ideally both)

Skills or processes candidates must have to be considered for the role:

  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful events.
  • Proven ability to manage executive stakeholders and cross functional teams, in fast paced, complex circumstances
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience managing budgets and negotiating contracts.
  • Specific Tools or Applications experience (ex. Google Apps, Salesforce CRM, etc) Certification or license: Experience with Google suite tools
  • Experience leading a team

Desired:

  • Strong understanding of the developer ecosystem and its unique needs.
  • Experience with tech industry events

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $67.89 to $75.44 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
