Description
The Director, Analytics & Insights leads a team of internal (and external as applicable) resources aligned to a therapeutic area. This role has primary responsibility for partnering closely to understand stakeholder needs and ensure solutions are in place to meet ongoing demands and changing landscape across Customer Insights, Advanced Analytics and Brand Experiences. The incumbent relies on expertise in both data collection and analysis to design strategies that directly drive business outcomes. This role drives the development of analytical tools, technology, and data acquisition plans while identifying and prioritizing investments for analytics, insights, and data management as well as ensures cross-functional collaboration, communication and alignment with Marketing, Sales and A&I Leads. This position is an office-based position. There is a requirement to be on-site 2 to 3 days a week in Ridgefield, CT.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides the strategic leadership for all key initiatives related to the Brands/Indications.
- Leads the team to identify customer insights, trends, changes in trends and outliers.
- Develops strategies and tactics based on analytics and associated insights to inform and provide recommendation to guide high-level decisions affecting the Brands/Indications.
- Crafts strong stories that are inclusive of several types of data sources including internal behavioral data, qualitative and quantitative studies, and syndicated research to shape full stories of consumer and market driven data.
- Searches for root cause, proving and disproving key hypotheses. Understands the analytical tools at our disposal - including external, non-traditional data sources - and utilizes them to drive analysis.
- Partners with key stakeholders across cross-functional teams to develop and interpret results.
- Develops analytics to drive insights to aid the stakeholders in business decisions by analyzing the client level data and integrating it back into BI core datasets, where feasible.
- Monitors competitive product landscape and trends related to the Brand(s)/indication(s) and determines implications to the portfolio. Understands customer and industry trends as they relate to contracted customers and potentially contracted customers.
- Leads various multi-disciplinary matrix teams to achieve project milestones.
- Assists team in identifying and evaluating insights to drive business decisions.
- Ensures that the team is staffed with qualified, highly motivated talent.
- Inspires ownership, accountability, initiative, and engagement within the entire team by regularly communicating BI's vision, business objectives, performance outcomes, and future action steps.
- Actively develops people within their organization as well as supports learning opportunities and encourages others to own their careers and take full advantage of BI career development offerings.
- Drives performance management of all personnel including all disciplinary action to ensure personnel are meeting or exceeding expectations in their roles.
- Ensures that corporate standards of excellence and compliance are upheld and performs all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g., EEO, FDA, OSHA, POMA, EPA, PhRMA, SCIP etc.) and Company policies and procedures.
- Immediately reports noted/observed violations to management.
- Always demonstrates high ethical and professional standards to maintain BIPI's excellent reputation within the medical and pharmaceutical community.
- Responsible for brand/indication specific MR and Analytics budget and travel budget related to MR activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Masters or PhD preferred.
- Expert in one of the following: Market Research, Competitive Intelligence, ROI, Modeling, and other analytic support.
- Ten plus (10+) years' experience in Pharma Industry with a working knowledge of value drivers, data modeling, call planning, targeting/segmentation, data governance and/or reporting.
- Deep business knowledge that translates into identifying, classifying, and manipulating data.
- Previous managerial and project management experience.
- Demonstrated success in managing large-scale cross-functional projects.
- Knowledge of data strategy for non-traditional channels.
