Job Summary

The Director of Application Shared Services oversees the day-to-day operations of a shared services center focused on providing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) support across the manufacturing organization, ensuring efficient system functionality, resolving complex issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize system usage and user experience across various plant GMs and Sr. Directors while collaborating closely with stakeholders to align ERP support with strategic business goals.

Job Description

This role involves leading and managing day-to-day Level 2 operations, working closely with cross-functional teams, driving governance, and executing against roadmaps. In addition, the role will be responsible for managing AMS providers and driving Level 3 continuous improvement through them. The incumbent works closely with various stakeholders and colleagues across Medline to build and foster trust-based collaborative relationships to promote the alignment, communication, coordination, and successful implementation of ERP Shared Services.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for shared services ERP support, including service level agreements, performance metrics, and ERP adoption plans.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify and prioritize ERP needs across plants, aligning support with overall business objectives.
  • Oversee the implementation of new continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring smooth transition and user adoption.

Operational Management:

  • Manage a team of ERP support specialists, providing technical guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Monitor and resolve complex ERP issues escalated by the support team, including troubleshooting technical problems, data inconsistencies, and system errors.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for ERP support, ensuring consistency and quality across the organization.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across the plants and leadership to understand their specific requirements and proactively address their ERP support needs.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding ERP updates, system changes, and potential impacts on business operations.

Manage AMS (Application Management Services) Providers:

  • Manage AMS teams and vendors to ensure high-quality Level 2 and Level 3 support using onshore, nearshore, and offshore resources.
  • Manage capacity planning and optimize AMS costs while maintaining service excellence using metrics and SLAs.
  • Support business continuity, audits, and adoption initiatives by leveraging AMS resources.

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage ERP implementation projects, including system upgrades, new module rollouts, and data migration initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Work Experience:

  • Experience: 15+ years in IT application management, AMS, or enterprise systems leadership.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Technical: Understanding of ERP systems (e.g., SAP S4/HANA, AS400) and their functionalities in the manufacturing domain. Proven track record of managing successful ERP implementations, upgrades, and manage change effectively.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of technical support specialists and manage AMS providers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose complex system issues. Ability to analyze IT challenges and implement efficient solutions.
  • Automation & Cloud: Knowledge of cloud migration, and IT service automation. Well versed in ITIL framework and best practices for service delivery
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical users. Experience in negotiating with and managing third-party vendors.
  • Budgets: Proven skills in budget preparation, analysis, decision-making, and enforcement with financial objectives.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$175,760.00 - $263,640.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
