Job Summary

Responsible for contributing to project teams, troubleshooting operational issues, providing technical solutions to operational problems, new product implementation, implementing existing products and services and the overall upkeep and maintenance of designated areas of engineering. Acts in compliance with industry and Company technical requirements, standards, policies and procedures. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Data Infrastructure Design and Implementation:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain data pipelines, databases, and systems to support efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) processes.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and implement scalable solutions.
  • Apply data tools and techniques to integrate data from various sources into centralized platforms.
  • Assist in the migration of on-premises data solutions to cloud platforms, ensuring smooth transition and minimal downtime.

Data Quality and Governance

  • Develop and implement data validation methods to ensure the integrity, consistency, and reliability of data.
  • Optimize data systems to improve reliability, quality, and efficiency, incorporating industry best practices for data governance.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by developing and maintaining data validation and error-handling mechanisms.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of data workflows, processes, and systems to ensure transparency and ease of maintenance.

Technical Expertise

  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to data platforms, ensuring swift resolution and minimal disruptions to business operations.
  • Constantly review data pipelines and storage systems to identify opportunities for cost optimization and performance improvement.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the performance of data pipelines and databases to ensure seamless operations.
  • Bring in industry best practices to streamline dataflow processes while building scalable and efficient data solutions.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Snowflake, and Databricks.
  • Familiarity with data integration tools like Pentaho.
  • Proven experience working with large and complex datasets in various environments.
  • Experience creating and optimizing stored procedures and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to optimizing data systems.

Core Responsibilities

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair all but the most complex issues. Performs maintenance activities with a minimum of supervision and guidance. Leads technical outage bridges and engages appropriate resources to drive issues to closure.
  • Acts as an advocate for Engineering Operations procedures, policies and processes. Ensures projects and initiatives are adhering to Company standards.
  • Tracks and reports operational workflows; maintains records of results and feedback. Analyzes data and metrics, identifies problem areas and provides actionable insight.
  • Acts as a technical resource in projects and initiatives and ensures successful project implementation.
  • Contributes to design considerations for new products or architectural changes to existing products.
  • Analyses problems in design, configuration, data flow and data state within a highly complex multi-product provisioning system.
  • Performs routine maintenance tests for designated areas of engineering and ensures all maintenance is properly validated to minimize impact.
  • Provides training and guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Attains industry standard certifications and education.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Salary:

National Pay Range: $54,065.28 USD-$126,715.50 USD
