Full Stack Engineer

The Role
As a Full stack, backend focused Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing highly performant APIs, supporting web and mobile user experiences that bring to bear the best-in-class client server distributed architectures for customers across Fidelity. You will own entire features from architecture, design to implementation and flawless deployment while using standard methodologies by working alongside tenured, experienced Senior Engineers. Team Members are expected to take opportunity to enhance our technical stacks, provide ideas to improve our processes/products, be curious to learn new skills, while raising the Quality bar on your team.
The Expertise You Have
- 3+ years of professional experience developing RESTful and similar API services using Java or Kotlin.
- A passion for technology and can navigate your way across sophisticated and rapidly-changing landscapes by building with an eye on the future and sharing innovative design with your peers/team.
- A creator, a doer, and a disruptor who will help us solve real-life problems and meet real customer needs. You'll be helping us build things, taking an idea, and creating rapid prototypes that are shippable and learn from real-life feedback.
- A self-starter, who actively finds opportunity to examine the status-quo, is bold to ask and learn the "Why" and "What if" possibilities.
- Experienced with the tools of the trade including a variety of modern programming languages and Technologies.
- Up-to-date on Algorithms, Data Structures and Design Patterns and love the challenge of building highly scalable systems that can support thousands of transactions/sec.
- Have an approach of test first development and are experienced in modern test frameworks where Quality is a must have.
- Are data-driven and can measure, collect and use data to make decisions while bringing balanced judgement and insight.
- Have great communication skills and technical expertise to drive and participate in significant discussions.
The Skills You Bring
- Proven experience with REST API Design & Development using Java or Kotlin.
- Proven experience working in a Cloud environment using AWS.
- Demonstrable experience interfacing services with any major front-end technologies (iOS, Android, Angular, React etc.)
- Strong Experience with Automation Tools/Frameworks (Junit, Cucumber, Mocha, Selenium etc.)
- Proven experience with DevOps, CI/CD using tools like Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube, Docker, uDeploy, Cloud Formation etc.
- Knowledge of architecture and design patterns to build highly scalable and resilient systems.
- Strong intellectual curiosity and willingness to explore new technology stacks.
