What You'll Do
BCG is looking for a Director level Enterprise Architect responsible for the architecture, design, and delivery of cohesive technical solutions across BCG business, primarily focusing on implementation of new platform, data capabilities, solution enhancements, and system/data integration. The Enterprise Architect likely will oversee multiple workstreams, such that they can drive consistency and synergy across solutions for the enterprise. They will also maintain awareness of emerging technologies relevant to their areas of expertise and responsibility.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated strategic thinker, engaging collaborator, and effective influencer. Key objectives of the role are to drive digital transformation and the strategic and tactical use of technology to deliver data/platform/AI capabilities, with cutting edge technologies in a high paced environment.
Critical to the Enterprise Architect's success is their ability to collaborate with project teams to deliver results balanced with adherence to standards and processes. They will coordinate and provide oversight to the solution architects and engineering leads of multiple workstreams.
The Enterprise Architect will also facilitate cross-enterprise coordination, ensuring that we accommodate requirements across the enterprise and address system integration needs for solutions. As a part of BCG Digital Bionic strategy, they will collaborate with multi-disciplinary architects and engineers across the business teams and technology organization to develop strategy, technology roadmaps, and technical standards. They will also work as an interface point with strategic partners, determining where they may offer value to business partners and facilitating coordination on joint initiatives.
YOU'RE GOOD AT
- Collaborate with other Enterprise Architects and Solution Architects and engineers to architect and review technical solutions that are aligned with enterprise technology standards and strategy, while also working to help develop and grow those standards and roadmaps.
- Works across multiple systems/solutions to ensure their consistency and alignment, as well as to determine how multiple systems/solutions can work together to ensure that solution architecture is adaptable across various lines of business.
- Leverage experience and expertise across a wide variety of technology domains, including infrastructure, data management, systems integration, and application development, using modern platform technologies e.g. cloud infrastructure, APIs, LLMs, vector and graph databases.
- You will be high energy, able to match the fast-changing tech landscape and business priorities. You will exhibit high levels of autonomy, experiences and capable in sharing modern data architecture methods, governance, and technologies.
- Energising our people to set a vision and see the possibilities for efficiency, effectiveness of using modern platform technologies e.g. cloud infrastructure, APIs, vector and graph databases.
- Finding great answers to complex and ambiguous questions and connecting and collaborating across teams to develop their solution architectures. You will seek diverse views, and with a growth mindset consider both conventional and unconventional answers.
- Provide technical oversight to multiple project teams to ensure compliance with processes and standards. Ensure that solutions/systems developed in support of the business are aligned with BCG Enterprise Architecture, technical standards, and technology roadmaps.
- Organize Architecture and Design Reviews to ensure wider architecture peer group input is sought for robust design. You will be passionate at developing others through mentoring, coaching, and sharing knowledge.
- Exercise concepts and best practices for designing system reliability/resilience, performance/scalability and maintainability/operability.Ensure designs are implemented with target architecture and key design decisions are clearly communicated to leadership and all key stakeholders.
- Review and consider prospective changes to the baseline solution that have been raised by process owners, projects, production support, continuous improvement initiatives and the business for architectural impact.
- Participate in the Technical design authority where proposals and solutions are reviewed and where there is the likelihood of potential change to the solution.Discuss emerging technologies and applications with vendors to assess options
What You'll Bring
- 10+ years' experience leading architecture work. Ideally a blend of experience in development, solution and enterprise architecture with multiple years' experience of developing and operating highly performant data pipelines.
- Your experience will include:
- Deep knowledge of working with structured and unstructured data
- Multiple successful experiences of leading the development of large volume data solution architectures.
- Evaluating solution options to achieving benefits in various dimensions of meeting functional & nonfunctional requirements, improving functionality/services, cost reduction/rationalisation and efficiencies through ongoing automation.
- Highly effective at influencing in a highly matrixed organisation
- Expert knowledge of consulting, you are likely to have been a consultant in your past.
Who You'll Work With
You will be reporting to the BCG IT Executive Director for Enterprise Architecture and work in the central Enterprise Architecture team. You will be working very closely with our data teams. This is an individual contributor role and will be expected to develop strong and influential relationships to all the solution architects working in all domains including our GenAI development teams.
