Location: This is an onsite position assigned to the Lansing Service Centerlocated in Grand Rapids Service Center located in Grand Rapids MI or Jackson Service Center located in Jackson, MI.The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The Associate Instructor assists with the delivery of high-quality instruction and facilitating learning experiences for students in a specific subject area. They collaborate with other instructors and business partners to revise, develop and implement curriculum, assessments, and instructional materials. The Associate Instructor assists with providing guidance and support to students, monitors their progress, and ensures a positive and engaging learning environment. This position is for a Health, Safety, and Environmental Associate Instructor and will be working with a team of instructors to conduct all mandatory safety training throughout the company to ensure compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support a lean mindset throughout the organization by using Lean methodology and principals. This includes finding and solving problems and contributing to customer affordability and our company's financial performance by seeking out efficient and effective learning solutions.
- Execute accurate document management.
- Support & collaborate with course Instructors to develop, revise and continuously improve lesson plans, curriculum, and instructional materials based on established guidelines and objectives
- Assess student learning and progress through various approved methods
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of engaging lectures, presentations, and interactive sessions to convey course content and concepts effectively to students in the assigned subject area
- Complete certification programs and experiences as required by the subject area; as well as participate in professional development activities to stay updated with the latest educational practices, technology and trends to enhance the learning experiences.
- Partner with other Learning and Development (L&D) instructors for coaching and learning opportunities to improve cross-functional abilities within L&D
- Supports and collaborates with colleagues and business partners including joint training committees and safety reps to develop and align instructional strategies and curriculum across courses.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Proven ability in delivering effective instruction and managing a classroom environment
- Knowledge and expertise in the subject area, including familiarity with relevant curriculum frameworks and standards
- Proficiency in using educational technology tools and software for instructional purposes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to obtain instructor certification in the relevant subject area.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, coworkers and business partners
- Be adaptable to different learning styles, technologies, and teaching methodologies to cater to diverse student needs
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active student participation and collaboration.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, education, and relevant work experience and ability to obtain instructor certification in the relevant subject area.
- (OR)Associate's degree in business, education, and at least 2 years of relevant work experience and ability to obtain instructor certification in the relevant subject area.
- (OR)Highschool diploma/GED and at least 4 years of relevant work experience and ability to obtain instructor certification in the relevant subject area.
