Costco is seeking a dedicated and experienced Data Center Analyst to join our Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) team. The selected candidate will be responsible for working with Engineers and Solutions Architects throughout the IT organization to design, plan, and install equipment within Costco’s data centers located in Wenatchee, Quincy, and Issaquah Washington. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in networking, storage, and server deployments and have experience provisioning and racking of hardware.

ROLE
● Gathers information for the other groups within CDS regarding their physical environment and potential work intended within the Data Center.
● Executes tasks and changes through other groups in CDS, on behalf of the business.
● Provides technical, scheduling, and manpower requirements to Release Management for proper Change Management.
● Performs twice daily Data Center floor walks to identify areas of concern (i.e. equipment, safety, power and cooling).
● Evaluates outages and determine the appropriate corrective action for resolution.
● Manages the full Return Machine Authorization (RMA) cycle within the Data Center (i.e. receive, catalog, properly store, and implement the equipment).
● Manages project schedule for installation and configuration of equipment.
● Manages the priority of the portfolio of work to ensure the highest priority work is completed first.
● Evaluates technical specifications of proposed equipment to determine power and cooling needs in order to determine optimum placement of equipment in racks within PODS.
● Manages task assignments within ServiceNow.
● Reconciles placement of physical equipment within the Sunbird Asset Management system and makes any necessary changes.
● Manages the lifecycle (i.e. receipt, operation, and decommission) of equipment within the Data Center.
● Reconciles the requests from other CDS groups regarding the desired location of equipment with the preferred physical location of the equipment based on power, cooling, and networking considerations.
● Executes a site survey of the space, power, cooling, and networking based on the requirements provided by another CDS team.
● Uses prior experience operating fiber optic test equipment.
REQUIRED
● Demonstrated extensive experience installing fiber, copper, and twinax cabling in an Enterprise environment.
● Demonstrated experience understanding how patch panels work and experience using them within the data center.
● Demonstrated extensive experience in rack and stacking equipment up to 50lbs and cabling devices to the network.
● Understands base level configuration of networking and compute devices.
● Proven experience troubleshooting enterprise level data center equipment and correcting issues found with fiber or copper cabling.
● Demonstrated experience coordinating large IT projects for networking, storage, and compute.
● Proven coordination with Engineers and Solution Architects as well as Executive Management within IT.
● Demonstrated ability to support multiple sites in Wenatchee, Quincy, and Issaquah as well as other locations.
● Minimum 5 years of experience operating in an enterprise data center.
● Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Recommended
● Certification in Data Center Expert or Data Center Authority.
● Proficient in Google Workspace applications, including Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Gmail.

Pay Range: $110,000 - $140,000
