Summary
In this role as a Jr. developer, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of APIs, support integration projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative banking solutions. Ideal candidates possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, have a basic understanding of API technologies, and are familiar with programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript. Responsibilities:
• Assist in designing, coding, and testing APIs to ensure seamless integration with banking platforms.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing APIs, ensuring they function as intended.
• Support integration projects that connect the bank’s systems with third-party financial platforms and services.
• Engage in hands-on integration using various technologies and frameworks common in open banking.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, senior developers, and QA testers, to ensure successful delivery of projects.
• Participate in stand-ups, meetings, and collaboration sessions to contribute ideas and solutions.
• Assist in creating and maintaining comprehensive API documentation and technical specifications.
• Report progress and findings to senior team members and suggest potential improvements.
• Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in API and open banking.
• Apply secure coding practices and assist in maintaining data privacy and security standards.
• Conduct initial testing of code and integrations to confirm they meet basic requirements.
• Work with QA teams to develop and execute test cases for API functionalities.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of API development and technologies (e.g., REST, SOAP, JSON, XML).
• Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Some exposure to SQL and database management.
• Awareness of basic banking operations and terminologies used in open banking.
• Interest in financial technologies and services.
• Ability to approach challenges logically and develop practical solutions.
• Eager to learn new technologies and adapt quickly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
• Ability to express complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Keen eye for detail and accuracy in coding and documentation.
