Hourly wage: $16.95 an hour
A Day in the Life:
Laboratory Technician ensures the integrity and safety of food products throughout the manufacturing process utilizing various standards and established testing methods, operating procedures, and adherence to protocols and policies.
What You'll Be Doing:
- All job duties require attention to safe operation and demonstration of safe work habits and behaviors. This includes the use of appropriate personal protective equipment for the job task.
- Observe all Safety and Food Safety guidelines and adhere to all company rules and policies as well as good manufacturing practices.
- Prepare testing solutions, equipment calibrations, general maintenance, and upkeep of laboratory.
- Gathering product samples from various production areas.
- Follow all proper procedures for analyzing product during production runs and final product packaging.
- Communicating any nonconformance to production supervisor immediately, including test results and status of any pending results.
- Proper completion of records (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly)
- Submitting records to Quality Assurance Lead or Supervisor daily.
- All duties include general area housekeeping responsibilities.
- All duties require adherence to Bunge's quality and GMP/HACCP process and procedures.
- All duties require attention to product specifications and appropriate product handling procedures.
- Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Additional duties as requested or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 years of previous lab or quality work experience is preferred.
- Must possess basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and understand various units of measure (US Currency, Imperial weights and measurements, Metric weights, and measurements), common fractions and decimal usage.
- Must be able to proficiently read and write in English for the purposes of record keeping and safety and quality training and processes.
- Prior experience with usage of document control systems preferred.
- Standard knowledge of computers and basic office software.
- Familiarity with a formal quality system (SQF, GMP/HACCP, ISO 9001, etc.) preferred.
- Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, good verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment.
