Position Summary
Manage the Industrial Hygiene function for the MAC. Minimize employee injuries and illnesses and ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations by identifying key areas to be evaluated for chemical hazards, managing testing and communicating results to appropriate MAC staff and employees. Assist in the design of safety programs to prevent or limit the number of airport user accidents/incidents and other losses to MAC assets and employees. Duties include oversee an industrial hygiene program; perform surveys, audits, analyses and inspections; coordinate required training for MAC employees on both regulated and non-regulated health and safety issues, and other duties as required.

Administrative
- Administration of OSHA mandated safety/industrial hygiene programs
- Develop, implement and coordinate annual employee training/retraining
- Perform compliance monitoring of safety/industrial hygiene programs
- Review and evaluate industrial hygiene programs and implement updates or program changes as necessary
- Assist in the processes to reduce airport user accidents/incidents
- Supervise contract IH staff and interns.
- Oversee programs involving outside agencies.
- Draft and manage Industrial Hygiene grants and applications seeking funding for the MAC.
- Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) for the Insurance/Risk Department.
- Implements the learning management system for the Insurance/Risk Management Department
- Assures staff receives training to effectively use LMS
- Facilitates the development of course requirements in safety and health for managers, supervisors and employees
- Designs and implements tracking system to assure employees are properly trained and the MAC is compliant with OSHA requirements
Technical
- Maintain a working knowledge of all, applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to safety and health
- Assist in the performance and documentation of accident investigations
- Analyze accident data and recommend proactive solutions to reduce the frequency and severity of accidents
- Perform and document safety surveys, inspections, audits and industrial hygiene monitoring
- Maintain, calibrate and secure analytical equipment
- Assist in the design and implementation of processes to reduce airport user accidents/incidents
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements- Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience in the industrial safety, industrial hygiene, occupational safety or related field
- In lieu of a degree, 10 years of experience in the industrial safety, industrial hygiene, occupational safety or related field
- Working knowledge of federal and state OSHA Standards and other applicable regulations
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Basic skill level using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong training and facilitation skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Valid state issued driver's license and reliable vehicle to commute between jobsites
- Ability to respond to emergencies that may require returning to the airport after scheduled work hours
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Industrial Hygienist in Training (IHIT) certification
Desirable Requirements- Master's degree in industrial safety/Hygiene or related field
- Working knowledge of airport operations
- Ergonomics experience
- Knowledge of codes and regulations other than OSHA (i.e. NFPA, LSC, UFC)
- Certified Industrial Hygienist certification
- Experience using Certpoint's Learning Management System
- Experience using Oracle Enterprise One
- Advanced skill level using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Other Information
This position provides an opportunity for on-site and remote work. MAC's remote work policy requires employees to be on-site three days of the week. Among the three on-site days, one of them must be either a Monday or a Friday.
