As a Mechanical Design Engineer at MFC, you will join one of the largest networks of engineering professionals, implementing cutting edge technologies on both existing and new development platforms. You will be helping us solve the world's most difficult challenges supporting such wide-ranging domain areas such as aircraft flight command and control, air traffic control, health care, and homeland defense. What You Will Be Doing
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Leading teams, mentoring junior engineers, customer interface, and contributing to the full lifecycle of product development.
- Designing mechanical subsystems and components, developing interfaces, and coordinating with multi disciplinary teams such as the Optical Engineering, Analysis, Materials, Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain Management, and Quality Assurance.
- Development, review, and release of detailed engineering drawings and documents using PTC Creo and Windchill.
- High level of proficiency in mechanical design within a fast-paced production environment.
It is possible that travel will be required to both customer and supplier sites. It is possible that travel will be both within and outside the Continental United States (CONUS).

Candidates filling this position will need a US citizen and will need a clearance at the level specified in "Clearance Level" or will need the ability to get a clearance if not specified. Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
* Extensive experience in mechanical design for both development and production phases in aerospace or a similar industry.
* Proficiency in PTC Creo for part and assembly design, and Windchill for managing engineering data and documentation.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
* Experience in creating detailed engineering drawings in compliance with ASME Y14.100 standards.
* Solid knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
* Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Detail-oriented with a focus on process and quality.
Desired Skills:
* Previous experience in a Material Review Board (MRB) role, particularly in a production setting.
* Familiarity with the transition from development to production, including the resolution of design issues and optimization for mass production.
* Prior experience with Lockheed Martin programs or similar defense contractors is a plus.
* Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, with potential for future technical leadership roles.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
