As
a Principal Software Engineer in the Military Avionics Center of Excellence
(COE) here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in developing
cutting-edge software solutions for military avionics applications. Your
expertise and technical leadership will contribute to the successful design and
development of software systems that ensure the safety, security, and
efficiency of military aircraft.
You will report directly to a Sr. Engineering Manager in the Military Avionics
Center of Excellence and you'll work out of our Phoenix Deer Valley Arizona
location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will have a significant impact on the advancement of avionics
technology, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance. You will
collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer requirements and
provide innovative software solutions. Your technical expertise and
problem-solving skills will contribute to the successful implementation of
projects and the resolution of technical challenges.

YOU MUST HAVE* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as computer science, electrical engineering, or related field
* Minimum of 12 years of experience in software development, preferably in the avionics industry
* Extensive experience designing and debugging complex embedded software systems
* Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Ada
* Experience with software development tools, version control systems, and testing methodologies
WE VALUE
* Experience with low level software functions such as boot or device drivers
* Experience with safety-critical software development standards (DO-178C)
* Knowledge of military avionics systems and standards (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, etc.)
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
