Project Engineer Miyamoto International is seeking a Project Engineer to work out of its Ontario, CA office. Through individual and collaborative effort with structural designers, staff engineers, and consultants as required, design and assess building projects to ensure their strength and durability; execute building designs including engineering calculations, detailing, and construction administration activities, utilizing strong design and analytical knowledge of all structural systems in steel, concrete, masonry, and wood; seek and obtain sufficient technical direction from project managers and from supervising staff on calculations or details for which there is uncertainty to ensure the technical accuracy and logic/ rationale of conclusions; leverage a proficient understanding of the CBC, ASCE 7, and all reference documents; create written reports and oral presentations; and utilize firm engineering standards and technical resources details while maintaining current knowledge of all firm guidelines and procedures. Position requires master's degree in civil engineering or related field and three years of relevant experience; experience must include design and analysis of (a) all seismic resistant steel frame types and (b) lateral resistance for light framed structures, including plywood shear wall. Salary range $112,778-$122,000/year.
