General Description of Major Tasks of Position

The Quality Engineer (Level 1) is responsible for supporting the Quality Manager in organizing the QMS, working towards/maintaining ISO 9001:2015 certification. He/she will lead cross-functional teams to create process flowcharts, and SOPs, and will have the responsibility for maintaining compliance by conducting audits.

Specific Duties Include, But Are Not Limited to:

1. Work with Cross-Functional Teams to Establish Process Flow Charts & Written Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
2. Work with Consultant to Achieve & Maintain ISO 9001:2015 Certification.
3. Conduct training for Quality Management System standards.
4. Maintain Document Control System.
5. Lead “Process-Based” QMS Assessments - focusing compliance and continuous improvement.
6. Monitor corrective actions from audits and ensure their completion.
7. Prepare for ISO Certification.
8. Facilitate structured problem solving.
9. Lead/facilitate NC/CAPA reviews for accuracy and completion.
10. Continuous Improvement of QMS.
11. Drive cultural, systemic embedment QMS processes.

Minimum Educational and Work Qualifications            

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a field related to Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Three years Quality Engineering experience in a Manufacturing Environment.
• Experience in ISO certification/recertification activities – Must be extremely knowledgeable of ISO requirements.
• Experience in organizing and conducting internal audits.
• Possess ASQ lead auditor certification or equivalent.
• Demonstrated project management experience.
• Experienced in structured problem solving with the ability to lead others.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Visio).
• Good writing skills required.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
