Job Summary
Serves as the Senior SATCOM Ground Infrastructure Expert in support of the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer.
Telework is not supported. Travel is required.
Responsibilities and Duties
Ensures SATCOM Ground Infrastructure Modernization is synchronized with the Space Segment and User Terminal Segment to ensure delivery of end-to-end capability to the warfighter. Drafts SATCOM Ground Reference Architectures to guide the Department's capability and drafts Capability Planning Guidance (CPG) providing specific resourcing instructions to the Services. Tracks Service's Programming, Planning, Budgeting and Execution and reports overall readiness to the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer (DoD CIO). Reviews various SATCOM systems solutions to ensure compliance with overall SATCOM Ground Infrastructure Compliance. Ensures the SATCOM Ground Segment Architecture includes a SATCOM Ground Element that synchronizes with the Department's Enterprise SATCOM Management and Control Reference Architecture. Ensures SATCOM solutions are compliant with overall Enterprise SATCOM Management and Control concept.
Qualifications and Skills
Required knowledge and years of experience
Must have at least seventeen (17) years of experience plus a Bachelor's or fifteen (15) years plus a Master's. Must have knowledge of SATCOM ground infrastructure, including baseband equipment, gateway terminals, and management software. Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must be proficient in MS Office applications.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree is required, and a Master's Degree is preferred.
