Position Description:
Provides application and infrastructure support for end-to-end brokerage platforms on Cloud. Supports software applications developed in Java/Spring MVC, Node JS, and GO. Monitors, tunes, and solves application issues in an Elastic Kubernetes service (EKS) infrastructure. Implements Site Reliability Engineering practices to ensure availability and resiliency of the platform.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides production support of cloud applications and infrastructure.
- Monitors and supports brokerage applications built in a microservices architecture on cloud.
- Develops application alerts and monitors in a cloud environment.
- Develops tools, processes, and procedures for operational support of application and infrastructure.
- Proposes modifications and improvements based on production environment observability.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering and Technology Management, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) supporting software applications with programming languages -- Java/Spring MVC, Node JS, or GO.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering and Technology Management, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer (or closely related occupation) supporting software applications with programming languages -- Java/Spring MVC, Node JS, or GO.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") developing and supporting the observability of infrastructure; and creating dashboard, monitors, and metrics using Datadog or Cloudwatch.
- DE supporting applications built in a microservice architecture on EKS using programming languages (AWS, Java, Spring core, Spring MVC, or NodeJS); and developing and supporting Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) using GIT or Jenkins.
- DE supporting cloud-based infrastructure software (EKS, Kafka, or FIX Connectivity) and high throughput-low latency trading infrastructure.
- DE supporting a platform on the cloud by developing scripts to automate and monitor applications and infrastructure, using Python.
