Northrop Grumman Space Systems - Launch and Missile Defense Systems is offering a career opportunity for a Sr Principal Engineer Network to join our team of diverse individuals. This position, which will be based in Boulder, CO.
Position Overview:
As a Network Engineer the candidate will be at the forefront of network design, helping solve complex technical problems, leading team members in technical execution, and helping train engineers with less experience. The Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing layered networks to support operational sites and development labs. This role offers significant opportunities for growth and learning in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Essential Functions:
• Apply extensive expertise and solve complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
• Design and implement layered networks to support operational sites and development labs
• The engineer will be responsible for multiple networks at remote and local locations, which requires the collaboration with system administrators and systems engineers to troubleshoot and solve complex problems quickly and efficiently.
• Must help junior engineers with tasks if needed
• Some travel may be required
• Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools
Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in a Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related work experience or a Master's degree in a related discipline and 6 years of experience, or 12 years of related work experience instead of a degree may be considered
• Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application
• 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.). CCNA is highly desired.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs
• Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers and independently on large field projects
• Must be competent in the configuration of routers, switches, and firewalls to include regular patching and updates for maintaining cyber compliance
• Must know how to design, implement, and manage Network Management and Monitoring Systems
• Must have extensive experience with networking protocols
• Must have proven troubleshooting expertise
Salary Range: $124,900 - $187,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
