Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the customer your product is meant to serve - know their needs, both spoken and unspoken.
  • Demonstrate extreme ownership by digging deep into the details of your products.
  • Keep products in your portfolio operating at peak performance by monitoring KPIs and releasing continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate with platform architects, engineers, and stakeholders from other teams to deliver solutions that meet the demands of our customers and internal partners.
  • Assist in quarterly and annual planning, capacity planning, and work intake processes.
  • Partner with engineering leaders to plot platform strategy years in advance, anticipating business needs, technical direction, and user base growth.
  • Assist in the management of platform incidents - can jump in provide communications outward if the team is heads down.
  • Develop and rally your team members around a shared vision and product strategy.
  • Build, compose, and socialize product roadmaps that are aligned with our corporate strategy.
  • Own the product lifecycle for your products.
  • Present regularly to stakeholders in upper management.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure product opportunities are valuable to customers, viable for the business, easy to use, and technically feasible.
  • Write clear and concise product documents to get buy-in and receive investment to build.
  • Build and maintain relationships across multiple departments within the company at various levels from PM to Executive level.
  • Pursue product and industry knowledge, identify trends and opportunities, and become a subject matter expert on designated products.

Required Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of how Internet products work - mobile apps, websites, API's, server architecture, server processing, relational databases.
  • Familiarity with performance metric graphs and alerts.
  • Confident in presenting to large groups.
  • Proficient at technical writing.
  • Open to feedback, hungry to learn.
  • Identify the root cause of a problem, or lead others in doing so.
  • Lead by influence on your product team and across the organization.
  • Inspire your team and rally others behind your vision.
  • Develop and drive towards specific goals and KPIs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage your priorities, between multiple products.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Capable of creating a plan to solve an ambiguous problem.

Required Education/Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field
  • 4+ years of product management experience
  • Relevant work experience with defining and delivering consumer products and/or services.
  • Ability to learn quickly.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
