Job Description

Senior Software Engineer (Waltham, MA; SS&C Technologies, Inc.): The Senior Software Engineer is based at SS&C's office in Waltham, Massachusetts with a telecommuting benefit. The incumbent must reside within commuting distance from SS&C's Waltham office. The Senior Software Engineer will be working on our Eze EMS application system on the Aurora team. The Eze EMS is a world-class trading system used by top brokers, hedge funds, and asset managers throughout the world. The Aurora team primarily works on the front-end trading application, which is how most of our customers place trades and monitor them. The application is also used for streaming market data and portfolio analysis, and needs to process thousands of streaming updates/second. The EMS supports trading multiple asset classes (stocks, options, futures, crypto, and more), as well as Pairs, Spreads and Baskets. Specific responsibilities will include: Developing and maintaining features in our Flagship Desktop Trading Application. Finding and improving performance bottlenecks to allow greater throughput. Refactoring and optimizing code to make it more efficient. Debugging issues that are reported by our customers. Looking for opportunities to incorporate new technologies into the application. Working in an agile and collaborative environment.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field plus 3 years of experience in a software engineering role.

Must have: 3 years C++ Programming Experience. 2 years of experience with web development. 2 years of experience with SQL or other database technology. 2 years of project lead experience. Proven ability to mentor less senior members of the team. Strong debugging skills.
