The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.
Within EFT we are seeking a Software Engineering Senior Manager to lead and transform the EFT Platform Site Reliability function. This portfolio includes complex solutions and ecosystems, delivering time critical observability data to ensure the stability of our applications and products. The successful candidate will be accountable for leveraging and building upon existing industry standard observability tools and custom-built observability capabilities to drive stability into our applications and products. Additionally, the team is responsible for identifying and developing automation opportunities to eliminate toil and reduce risk in the environment.

In this role, you will:
Manage, coach, and develop a team, or teams, of experienced engineers and engineering managers in roles with moderate complexity and risk, responsible for building high quality capabilities with modern technology
Lead and transform the Site Reliability function in collaboration with technology partners across the firm
Drive standardization of existing EFT solutions and ensuring all new solutions are built to Enterprise standards
Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture, and meeting non-functional requirements with each release
Identify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks including code, build and deployment while also managing overall software development cycle and security standards
Identify and develop automation opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce risk
Partner with, engage and influence architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies, while understanding next generation domain architecture and enable application migration paths to target architecture; for example cloud readiness, application modernization, data strategy
Interpret, develop and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with moderate complexity, as well as identify, manage and mitigate technology and enterprise risk
Collaborate with, partner with and influence Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction, influence technology requirements and priorities in the product roadmap, promote innovative and intelligent solutions, generate corporate value and articulate technical strategy while being a solid advocate of agile and DevOps practices
Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in technology engineering
Hire, build and guide a culture of talent development to have the skills required to effectively design and deliver innovative solutions for product areas and products to meet business objectives and strategy, as well as conduct performance management for engineers and managers
Required Qualifications:
6+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
6+ years of leveraging industry standard observability and automation tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, App Dynamic, Dynatrace, Ansible or similar.
6+ years of designing and or building enterprise grade customized observability solutions to improve time to detect, mitigate and resolve production incidents.
6+ years of experience in technology operations, supporting enterprise level complex applications and platforms
3+ years of Management experience
Desired Qualifications:
5+ years Database technologies, such as SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Postgres
5+ years Messaging technologies such as Kafka, MQ
5+ years Programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, HTML. JS, React
Ability to research and self-study to keep technical skills relevant in a highly complex environment
Delivery focus and willingness to work in a fast-paced, enterprise environment
Knowledge and understanding of application or software security such as: web application penetration testing, secure code review, secure static code analysis
Experience with configuration and monitoring technologies such as Ansible, Grafana, Elastic, Splunk, Prometheus
Excellent communication (oral and written) with ability to communicate at multiple levels ranging from technologists to senior managers and executive leadership
Experience in providing thought-leadership, expertise to formulate and execute on major strategies to develop/deliver robust and scalable solutions
Ability to deliver & engage with partners effectively in a multi-cultural environment by demonstrating co-ownership & accountability in a matrix structure
Ability to develop and execute business vision, strategies, and goals
Ability to research and self-study to keep technical skills relevant in a highly complex environment
Delivery focus and willingness to work in a fast-paced, enterprise environment
Experience with Agile, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD), DevOps concepts, and Site Reliability Engineering principles
Knowledge and understanding of complex enterprise systems and frameworks including frontends, middleware, services layer, database, backend, and downstream interfaces

Pay Range: New York, NY- 144,400.00- 300.00USD Annual
