Job Title: Telecommunications Analyst
Pay: $40/hour
Contract: 6 month contract to hire
Location: Based in Hampton, VA but ability to travel 50-75%
Job Description:
How A Telecommunications Analyst Will Make An Impact:
- Performs a variety of technical tasks including remote and onsite support of the following equipment. Routers and switches (Cisco), radios (PRC117, URC 200/300, CM 300/350 V2) and serial to IP converting devices (Sunhillo).
- Modifies, moves, and installs a range of new equipment.
- Troubleshoots a variety of hardware and software problems and interconnectivity issues.
- Performs a variety of integrity testing and interviews customers to gather information about problems.
- Prepares and presents a variety of incident/performance reports to the customer and to the service delivery manager.
- Provides advice and a variety of onsite training for customer support personnel.
- May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.
- May serve as a team or task leader. (Not a people manager)
- Analyzes, maintains, and modifies telecommunications systems to meet operational standards.
- Monitors the operations of telecommunications systems and services of vendors.
- Conducts studies regarding telecommunication systems usage and recommends changes as appropriate.
- Plans and coordinates all moves and installation of telecommunications equipment.
- Tests, adjusts, and troubleshoots complex hardware equipment as necessary.
- Maintains records and prepares complex reports relevant to the operation of the telecommunications systems.
What You Will Need to Succeed:
- Active Secret Clearance
- Provides end-user training of telecommunications features and functionality.
- CompTIA Security Plus required.
- Req lists bachelor’s degree, but the job profile technically only requires technical training-BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 3+ years of experience

50-75%
