Located in the Falls Church, VA Corporate Office, The State and Local Legislative Affairs Coordinator reports to the Director, Legislative Affairs and State and Local Government Relations within the Corporate Legislative Affairs organization.
In this job, you'll:
• Support the State and Local team by tracking and summarizing various state level activity, including hearings, legislation, association meeting, and other legislative activity.
• Draft letters, presentations, fact sheets, white papers, and other supporting documents.
• Assist the State and Local team prepare for meetings and site visits, to include travel arrangements, expense reporting, and scheduling.

• Have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously.
• Are skilled at communicating with both internal and external executive level contacts.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and can work with all levels of internal and external executives.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and work in partnership with others.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, or a related field with 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. (Appropriate combination of education and experience will ne considered in lieu of the degree requirement)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong problem solving, organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-starter who works effectively both individually and as part of a team, and is proficient with office software and applications.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience tracking state level legislation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the U.S. political process, including state and local government relations.
• Self-starter, with excellent judgment and integrity, and a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Three to five years of work experience demonstrating increasing responsibilities.
• Experience with a state or local government.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Concur (or similar) travel and expense reporting system.
Salary Range: $81,300 - $121,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
