Description:This position opens an exciting career supporting wind tunnel testing at on-site and off-site wind tunnel test facilities. It entails all the aspects of aerodynamic testing including test planning, test execution, and data reporting. In certain circumstances, it may involve programming data acquisition systems. It may also involve the design of complex wind tunnel models.

What You Will Be Doing
Successful candidate will conduct wind tunnel testing at Lockheed Martin, Government, and commercial facilities. He/she will be responsible for coordinating test requirements with internal and external customers, attending design activities to support the test project, and overseeing project performance, budget, and schedule considerations. Successful candidate will need mechanical design skills as well as the ability to develop an understanding of instrumentation integration and calibration as well as aerodynamic data validation and certification. This position requires travel to offsite facilities for test support. This will provide opportunities for travel to various parts of the USA, and potentially, to Europe and universities on rare occasions. Candidate may be required to maintain and develop new features for custom LabView based software employed at on-site test facilities. Software requirements include interfacing with signal conditioning and data acquisition hardware, motion control hardware, and pressure measurement systems and performing data reduction operations. Candidate will also work with experienced engineering staff to learn the art of designing wind tunnel models. This design activity will employ CATIA to develop models that represent the outer mold lines of aircraft configurations to a high degree of accuracy. The models must adapt to sting/balance assemblies, provide easy access for instrumentation, meet test facility stress requirements, be manufactured at a reasonable cost, and be designed skillfully to allow efficient configuration changes. This activity also involves oversight of model fabrication at vendor facilities.

This position is in Fort Worth, TX Discover Fort Worth.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.

- Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

- Experience in wind tunnel testing and desire to work in that technical area.

- Experience in a laboratory environment and willing to work hands-on.
Desired Skills:
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally for potentially multiple months per year.

- Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems (DAS), primarily focused on the acquisition of pressure transducers, strain gages, and temperature probes.

- Knowledge of National Instruments LABVIEW to maintain and develop new capabilities.

- Experience in model design with 3-D Solid Modeling CAD systems.

- Experience in instrumentation design and installation.

- Experience performing stress calculations and stress reporting is a plus.

- Highly motivated individual with the ability to learn continuously and the ability to identify multiple avenues to successfully reach team goals.

- Strong written and oral communication skills.

- Ability to develop clear technical presentations for customers and suppliers.

- Microsoft Office Skills - Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Project.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
