Job Description:
Apex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITEJourneyman Electrician for our client based out of Hagerstown, MD.
This will also have a first shift Monday-Friday schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Handle DC voltages up to 600V and AC voltages up to 480V 3-phase on plant equipment, and up to 12,470V on distribution equipment.
- Utilize prints, schematics, program documentation, National Electrical Code, service manuals, and technical bulletins to complete tasks.
- Perform installation, construction, operation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment both inside and outside the facility. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Electric lift trucks, communication lines, programmable logic controllers, personal carriers, lighting, automation control circuits, batteries, cranes, conveyors, chargers, distribution equipment, dock doors, locks, and levelers.
- Motors and motor controllers, emergency generators, boilers, compressors and their controls, belts, control circuits, fluid fill machines, fans, transformers, torque tools, computer equipment, circuit breaker panels, HVAC equipment, dynamometers, welders, variable frequency motor drives, and other electrical machinery used in production.
- Understand hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics.
- Use electrical test meters and equipment to diagnose issues.
- Research part numbers for repairs, order spare parts, and manage inventory.
- Document repairs and generate or edit prints and programs as needed.
- Plan electrical jobs, calculate and order necessary supplies and materials.
- Use ladders and lift platforms safely.
- Follow OSHA lock-out tag-out procedures, maintain a safe and clean work area, and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Be flexible to work any shift.
- Commit to meeting customer and facility operation expectations.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- High school diploma or equivalent; higher education is a plus.
- Must provide proof of completing a certified electrical apprenticeship program with Journeyman status or have at least 4 years of equivalent on-the-job experience.
- Experience in manufacturing or a general understanding of a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and maneuver within the client's environments for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, crouching, and reaching to access and install hardware.
- Ability to navigate stairs and confined spaces as needed.
