The AstraZeneca Mt. Vernon site was established in 1972 and is the flagship site delivering innovative, life changing oral solid medicines. At the site we formulate and pack OSD tablets and capsules for over 60+ markets. The Mt Vernon site is complex, the largest AZ production site in the US with over 700+ employees. We are located in the southwest corner of the state of Indiana, approximately 15 miles from Evansville, Indiana - the third largest city in the state. The Mt. The Capital Project Engineering Technician is responsible for managing the capital project delivery process for major capital projects at the Mt. Vernon site. This includes partnering with the project manager on project budget, cash flow plans, schedule, and execution to schedule. Additionally, this role involves liaising with our global engineering peers on process improvements as needed.
Accountabilities
- Act as a liaison between site capital team, site project management team, external engineering partner(s), and global engineering
- Develop strong knowledge of global engineering CPDP processes
- Support management of key milestones aligned upon within the global engineering CPDP process for Mt. Vernon site major projects (i.e. CDC)
- Ensure site documents meet global CPDP standards
- Schedule/facilitate routine check points on schedule, cost, PDRI review, etc.
- Represent site at tier pulse meetings
- Support monthly global engineering project app reporting as needed
- Partner with vendors and accounts payable to track invoicing
- Generate Monthly Project Status Reports (PSR's) on projects showing current, actual, forecasted, and budget spend as well as current purchase orders versus baseline plan
- Support tracking of Project Spend model for monthly/annual variance tracking
- Comply with Global and Mount Vernon Spend Reporting schedules
- Maintain audit-ready records
- Develop and track change orders associated with capital project purchase orders
- Assign appropriate cost center and depreciation schedule
- Manage asset development & disposals (DAR)
Essential Skills/Experience
- 1+ years experience in project management, execution, or controls with a Bachelor's degree or 3+ years with an Associate's degree or 10+ years with a High School Diploma
- Excellence in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- Capital Project Process Knowledge
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to organize and implement projects that improve the operational effectiveness of a maintenance system
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
