Position Summary:
Installs, repairs and removes in an efficient manner various electrical equipment with respect to quality, safety and sanitation.
Core Functions:
- Reads and interprets drawings, sketches and layouts.
- Performs lay-out, installs and maintains a variety of electrical equipment such as motors, lighting circuits, starters, generators, transformers, or any other electrical apparatus necessary for plant operation.
- Maintains shop cleanliness.
- Does all work pertaining to changing electrical drives.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area and removes material and equipment from job site.
- Checks output on DC controllers and replaces printed circuit boards when needed.
- Checks filter timers and replaces timers when needed.
- Installs all wiring to and between electric and electronic equipment.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements:
- Education requirements (HS diploma or equivalent. Journeyman Electrician Certification)
- Experience requirements (4 years at Journeyman Electrician)
- Hard skills (3 phase motors, 480-volt AC power systems, PLC and Instrumentation experience preferred)
- Soft skills (good communication skills, knowing all OSHA safety requirements, schematics and wiring diagrams, able to work with limited or no supervision)
