Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Quality Engineer Responsibilities:
- Supplier Evaluation and Qualification:
- Assess potential suppliers' capabilities and capacities.
- Conduct supplier audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the supplier qualification process, including first article inspection and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process).
- Supplier Development:
- Work with suppliers to implement quality management systems and continuous improvement processes.
- Collaborate on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address non-conformances and process inefficiencies.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics, including defect rates, delivery times, and responsiveness.
- Quality Assurance:
- Review and approve supplier-provided documentation, such as certificates of conformity, material data sheets, and test reports.
- Develop and enforce incoming inspection criteria and processes.
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts for supplier-related quality issues.
Lab Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Laboratory Management:
- Supervision and support of Prairie Ave. Quality Testing Lab Team (4) and the SQE in Jeffersonville
- Oversee the daily operations of the quality lab, ensuring that all testing and inspection activities are conducted according to established procedures and standards.
- Ensure the lab is equipped with the necessary tools, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab environment.
- Testing and Inspection:
- Supervise the inspection and testing of materials, components, and finished products.
- Ensure that all testing is performed accurately and that results are documented properly.
- Analyze test results to identify trends or issues and report findings to management.
- Team Leadership:
- Train, mentor, and manage lab technicians and quality inspectors.
- Develop and implement training programs to improve team skills and knowledge.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Prepare and present quality reports and summaries to management.
- Support internal and external audits of the quality lab.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, quality assurance, or a related role in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in lab supervision or management is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of quality systems, tools, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
- Proficiency in using quality inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and CAPA.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with suppliers, team members, and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in using quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certification in quality engineering (e.g., CQE, CQA) is a plus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The annual salary for this position ranges from $100,000 in our lowest market up to $122,000 in our highest market, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable.
